The Attention Skills Program is a non-clinical, skills-based enrichment program designed to support children (Kindergarten through 6th grade) in developing attention, emotional awareness, and kindness through calm, presence-based activities.
The program emphasizes awareness and everyday mindfulness rather than instruction, diagnosis, or treatment.
· Session Length: 45 minutes
· Group or individual format available
· Seated or stationary activities
· Flexible participation (children may stand or move quietly as needed)
Each session includes:
· Short guided calm moments or quiet time
· Awareness and attention activities
· Gentle reflection appropriate to age
· Integration time to support transition back to daily activity
Meditation in this program is introduced as simple attention and awareness, such as noticing breathing, thoughts, or sensations in a gentle, accessible way. It is not presented as a technique, belief system, or spiritual practice.
The program is offered from a spiritual companionship perspective, meaning the facilitator provides presence, listening, and attention without directing, interpreting, or treating emotional or behavioral conditions.
No religious or belief-based instruction is included.
This program:
· Does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment
· Does not include body-movement instruction
· Does not address mental health conditions
· Does not replace school counseling or medical services
Any concerns beyond the program’s scope are referred to parents or appropriate school staff.
· Participation is voluntary
· Children are never pressured to share personal experiences
· Program follows school and aftercare policies
· Parental consent required

• Afterschool Group Program:
$25 per child / per session
• Individual Sessions (by parent request):
$66 per 45-minute session
Individual sessions are available by parent request and follow the same non-clinical, presence-based approach.
Activities are adapted developmentally for different age groups and designed to be flexible and child-centered.
Provided by The Spiritual Center LLC in a non-clinical educational capacity. Other services offered by the company are separate and not part of this program.
My work with children is informed by foundational study in child development and years of observing how attention and awareness develop across ages.

Q: Is this program therapy or counseling?
A: No. The Attention Skills Program is a non-clinical enrichment program. It does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind.
Q: Is this a religious or spiritual program?
A: No religious teachings or beliefs are included. The program is offered in a neutral, presence-based way that is appropriate for school and afterschool settings.
Q: What will my child actually do during a session?
A: Children participate in calm, age-appropriate activities such as quiet moments, guided attention exercises, simple awareness practices, and kindness-based activities. Participation is always optional and flexible.
Q: Does my child have to sit still?
A: No. Children are never required to sit still or participate in any activity that feels uncomfortable. They may sit, stand, or move quietly as needed.
Q: Is movement involved?
A: No. The program does not include body-movement instruction.
Q: How are activities adapted for different ages?
A: Activities are adapted developmentally for different age groups, with attention to safety, simplicity, and age-appropriate language.
Q: What if my child doesn’t want to participate?
A: Participation is always voluntary. Children may observe quietly or take space as needed. No child is pressured to engage or speak.
Q: What if my child shares something emotional or personal?
A: The facilitator listens respectfully but does not provide counseling or interpretation. Any concerns beyond the program’s scope are referred to parents or school staff.
Q: Who is this program for?
A: The program is designed for children in kindergarten through 6th grade and works best for children who benefit from calm, supportive spaces to build attention and awareness skills.
Q: Do parents need to give consent?
A: Yes. Written parental or guardian consent is required prior to participation.
